About Me
Cathy Pruzan
I started dancing at the age of three in Seattle, WA, and went on to the University of Washington where I majored in dance. I moved to San Francisco in the early 70’s to pursue a professional dance career, becoming soloist with the San Francisco Opera Ballet, Carlos Carvajal’s Dance Spectrum, and finished my career with ODC/San Francisco.
After retiring from the stage, I worked in a worker’s comp law firm; a voiceover academy and casting agency; worked with composers for radio, television, and film, including the Skywalker Sound Staff, and came back to ODC/San Francisco as booking and tour manager.
In 1998 I increased my roster, representing international dance companies as associate with Art Becofsky and Associates, for tours in North America. Currently my roster includes international and domestic dance companies, whose works range from pure dance to theater/performance art. In addition to securing engagements for the artists, I am also committed to finding ways of working in communities to strengthen awareness of the arts through education and meaningful residencies.
